Boys Club Saturdays!

The following is from Anthony Miriello from Spectrum Share Consulting:

I will starting “Boys Club” on Saturdays between 10-11:30am. This weekly group will begin the second week of July. I have 4 kids signed up so far and would like one more (2 more at most).

Boys Club is primarily for “quirky”/bright/often socially isolated and challenged boys between 7-10 years old. The groups focus is to build friendship, to share interests, and to create a comfortable place where individuality and community meet.

If I don’t get a fifth member, I’ll start with the four and we can add as we go. I’d love to do this also for the 10-13 and possibly 13-16 age groups. This group will range from recreational/physical activity to informal activities like watching a movie together and sharing favorite youtube clips.

Attached is the flyer, which is obviously meant to attract the kids. You can feel free to share this email with parents you feel might be interested.   BoysClubFlyer

The cost will be $100/month membership (4 meetings/month).

Welcome to our new Vancouver Location!

This is the "before" of our new large gym.

This is the “before” of our new large gym.

For those of you who haven’t already seen our new space, come check it out!  In addition to the convenient location right off SR 500, the new clinic also offers more windows, water fountains, additional treatment areas/places to meet with parents, a kitchen/feeding space, greeting area for our office manager Becky and (trumpet sounding here) TWO bathrooms that are located away from treatment space.  Wow!  Kudos to all who helped move the entire clinic in 48 hours.  When I stopped by on the Sunday afternoon of the move, I was amazed by how much had already been done.   It was obviously a herculean effort by supporters of the clinic and they did a fantastic job.

The new clinic address is:

4201 NE 66th Ave.  Suite 106  Vancouver WA 98661

Our phone and fax numbers remain the same and there is parking right out front.  Here are some more photos to get you acquainted.  Stop in and say “Hello!”

This is our new spacious small gym.

Bringing OT/Fitness Home – parent submission

This was captured on Anthony Miriello’s blog (of spectrumshare Consulting). Way to go to this parent!

I am happy to post a parent submission to the blog this week.

Enjoy!

If parents are wondering how to bring ot home… This is one of the things we do. 10 jumps on the trampoline, then hop from pillow to pillow down the hall, and end with 100 pushes in the swing. I’ve learned to either do this, or cartoon(thanks to you) when she’s melting down. It does amazing things for our sensory kids. 🙂 The swing provides vestibular input, and proprioceptive input from the jumping. Tantrum over, followed by an hour of quiet play.
